Facilities Management is typically not part of a company’s core business and there can be little familiarity with this discipline – opportunities, potential, requirements, etc. There can also be feelings of ownership, insecurity, and subsequent resistance to change. Finally, vendors “play in a different league” when it comes to interaction with the client organisation.
